:Just about everybody believes that there will be an Antichrist, in the form of an actual man, who appears in the last days. One of the hallmarks of this individual will involve a COVENANT with Israel. Because of Daniel 9: 27, some say he will initiate a peace treaty.
“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:. . .” (Daniel 9: 27, KJV)
According to the Blue Letter Bible concordance, “confirm” here means “to make strong, strengthen.” Notice, it does NOT mean “begin.”
While “covenant” here can mean “treaty,” it can also mean “pledge” or “alliance.”
One reference book I always keep at hand is “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel” by William Koenig.
Koenig does an outstanding job of linking many catastrophes that have happened here in America directly to meetings and conferences between America and Israel, among them, Hurricane Andrew, the first WTC bombing, Hurricane Katrina, and the May 3, 1999 tornado outbreak.
Our economy started collapsing in the spring of 2008. We ALL can see that, or in many instances, are feeling that. I don’t have to list all the headlines sounding the alarm from major economists that we are doomed (to put it bluntly). In fact, most of us are just waiting for that shoe to fall.
FIRST SIGNS OF THE COLLAPSING ECONOMY
MARCH 2008: the fall of Bear Stearns
APRIL 2008: the cost of oil began to surge exponentially and continued into July of 2008
But were these two events really the first signs? Maybe not. The first sign was so subtle that we probably didn’t know it was a sign.
JANUARY 2008: President Bush introduced a stimulus package to help the slumping economy. Looking at several economic indicators and taking into account an accelerating number of foreclosures on residential homes that had been occurring since late summer of 2007, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved on January 29, 2008, a $145 billion payout to American consumers. Their hope was that we would rush out and buy, buy, buy and shazam! the economy would be back on track. Looking back now, we wish $145 billion was ALL that was needed.
AUGUST, SEPTEMBER 2008: By late summer the trickle of news rushed into a torrent–news of massive home foreclosures merged with news of some big banking names and Wall Street bastions collapsing like a house of cards. The good times of nice, fat retirement portfolios had suddenly vanished, and many were looking around stunned, not sure who to blame. Lehman Brothers, gone! AIG, too big to fail! The president stepped in this time asking Congress for a staggering $700 billion to stop Wall Street’s collapse.
NOVEMBER 2008: the Big 3 automakers arrived in Washington begging for loans with dire threats of massive damage to the economy if taxpayers didn’t fork over, well, our money. Turns out they were only the first in line. Outside Congressional doors, a number of states waited their turn to ask for a handout to prevent massive cuts in state services, and for California, worse–bankruptcy.
(Arnold didn’t get the bailout from Bush or from Obama, so this past week, July 2009, California began handing out IOUs.)
DECEMBER 1, 2008, CNBC had a report titled “Recession is Officially Here–And May Last for Awhile.” For the first time the government was acknowledging the recession, and the article says the recession began in December 2007.
Here is where Koenig fits in. Based on his book, I looked into ANYTHING we had done concerning Israel that might have caused this mess. And I found something!
November 25-27, 2007, a unique, one-time event did happen. And it was hailed as the best thing the United States had done in a long time to promote peace in the Middle East. The United States hosted a conference for over 50 guests from various countries in Annapolis, Maryland to formally announce that Israel would give up land as a conciliatory gesture to the enemy states that surround her.
It is my opinion, that this Annapolis covenant or pledge will be the one the Antichrist will “confirm.” At some point, he will insist that Israel honor the terms made “with many” in Annapolis. Anyone who knows anything about biblical prophecy knows that this covenant that the Antichrist confirms will be Israel’s undoing because it will cause her destruction.
(Daniel 9:27)
Wikipedia notes the following about the ANNAPOLIS CONFERENCE: The conference marked the first time a two-state solution was articulated as the mutually agreed-upon outline for addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The conference ended with the issuing of a joint statement from ALL parties. (emphasis mine)
Look at this IMPRESSIVE list compiled by Reuters. There are 52 listed here and there were additional “observers” as well. This conference had the MOST EVER in attendance. It is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT to note that several ARAB states attended, whereas they have not done so in the past. In fact, some, like Saudi Arabia, did not commit until just about 3 days before, and when they did commit they insisted NO pictures and NO handshakes with Israel’s Olmert.
http://www.reuters.com/article/newsO…071127?sp=true
It is my opinion that the covenant that began in Annapolis will not only lead to the destruction of Israel, but it will also be the destruction of America. I wonder how many will see the connection between Annapolis and our current trouble? I wonder how many will believe that there is a connection? The Annapolis Conference was November 2007, and our recession, the worst since the Great Depression, began December 2007. Our fall began within days. And because MANY were involved, MANY economies around the world have suffered since, in fact, it is referred to now as a global recession, and many blame the U.S.
The financial collapse that is happening around us is more devastating than a dozen Hurricane Katrinas. Extreme to compare the two? Not really. The insured costs of Hurricane Katrina was about $40 billion. By the end of 2008, the stimulus package was $145b; the Wall Street bailout $700b; the Big 3 want $50b; Fortune magazine says that 31 states will need $176b in bailouts; and Mr. Obama had pledged $500b in economic relief once he was in office (it turned out he gave more). Crunch those numbers.
Hurricane Katrina caused a loss of 200,000 homes in New Orleans and surrounding areas, and a loss of 214,000 jobs statewide in Louisiana. With no jobs and no homes, many stopped paying their mortgages, which contributed to the foreclosure slide in the U.S. Compare the loss of Katrina homes to the recent number of foreclosures (it is difficult to find solid numbers but apparently several million homes are in foreclosure or behind on mortgage payments), and yyou will find that several times that number stand empty, boarded up, and doomed to bulldozing. Several million jobs have been lost in 2009. Unemployment has surged past the 8% that President Obama said it would be contained at if Congress would adopt HIS stimulus package. So, yeah, our current financial crisis is worse than a dozen Hurricane Katrinas.
America stuck her finger in God’s eye big time in Annapolis. (Zechariah 2:
Will the news get worse? Yes. How will you get through the days, weeks, and months ahead? I have no idea–you will have to ask God. He has a plan for each one of us, and each one of us will have to get alone with Him and ask Him about that plan. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Before you dismiss the Annapolis Conference, consider the headlines of the following that I have provided in PART 2. All of them are connected with Annapolis. I’ve provided the links. One can almost see the “train wreck” between Israel and U.S. coming upon us. __________________
Remember I said earlier that “covenant” can mean “pledge?”

BARACK OBAMA ON ANNAPOLIS CONFERENCE
04-08-09: ANALYSIS / Obama saying Israel still bound to two-state solution, Haaretz
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman swept aside the Annapolis process, and U.S.
President Barack Obama swept it right back. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
rejected the two-state solution and Obama “clarified” that the United States not
only “strongly” supports it, but he himself intends to advance it.

06-10-09: A clear message from Obama, Haaretz
In a speech Monday before the Turkish parliament . . . On the podium in Ankara,
Obama, who committed to protect Israel’s security, made clear his views on this
security when he declared: “The United States strongly supports the goal of two
states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security.” (emphasis mine)
(What does the Bible say about when they say “peace and safety”?)
Obama reminded those wishing to ignore the two-state vision that this goal
was agreed on by both sides in the road map and at the Annapolis
conference, and that one should not expect the U.S. administration to adopt
the new Israeli position, which seeks to nullify the standing of the Annapolis
summit.

Look if you want to for a NEW peace treaty, but I am going to be watching this one.
This is a post from the Concord Bridge that I felt was remarkable and note worthy for all believers to have access to. Many of us will be looking for a new 7 year treaty to be signed when in fact it could be right before our eyes. Keep watching prayerfully seeking God’s direction and discernment. Blessings, Hannah
